Curious Critters

Before shooting a model for a book cover shoot, I met an amazing person at Tongva Park, which is down the street from where I reside in Santa Monica. I can be quite shy and I have never had a photo shoot done of myself, but I quickly opened up to this feller. Though the photographs were quite silly, it taught me not to be so nervous all of the time and just let loose.

After photographing Darrell in the afternoon we went back to his place where I was read a letter from his mom in Chinese, which was pretty crazy. When I turned around a young girl was staring me and after a brief moment I jumped with glee because Iove mirrors and different shades of light which were behind us. I grabbed my camera and framed Darrell in the light.

Afterwards I played him the piano and we ended the evening with me kicking his butt in video games :)

Love is in the Air <3

Oh boy Oh boy, it is THAT time of year again, my fellow internet users.

“What time is that, Adriane?”

My photo assignment for The Corsair Newspaper,  is to shoot couples for a Valentines story of gushy love. Since I was out roaming the Santa Monica Pier this afternoon, (which is conveniently down the street from my house) I decided to shoot a few pics.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t supreme lighting time but I am obviously going to reshoot during the late afternoon golden hour on Sunday and Monday.

At first, when I was walking around, I was super nervous. I am not quite sure why though because I always photograph random people. Maybe it was because I had to go up to cute, gushy love couples. But once I started- I had fun talking with them and learning about their relationship!

SOOO AH 1, AH 2, Ah GO!

This here is James and Georgina. They were just visiting the pier today for a quick date after a busy morning working.

Jinwoolee and Sy Choo spend their vacation together on the Santa Monica Pier. They are visiting from Korea and when I asked how long they have been together, and after talking for a brief moment in Korean, Sy Choo said they have been dating for “500 days.” That was kind of the most adorable response I have ever heard. Absolutely Adorable people, 500 days.

Berneese and Isiael were just hanging out on a bench watching the waves crash. They said they had been together for two years but I think they felt nervous at first because they weren’t touching each other so I told them to get close and show some love!!

Ok so I promise I am not a stalker, but I waited for them to get off a ride at the amusement park because they were the cutest couple ever. This picture of them definitely captures their adorableness and FUNNESSSS in their relationship. Props to you two, Stephanie and Denis!

THESE GUYS WERE SO BOMB! They make me smile so hard!!! My roommates met up with me at the pier after shopping and Catherine went up to these guys in the snack bar line and we went over to this colourful door. Karie and Matt have awesome style and such a fun relationship. Such a pleasure to meet!

This was my first round of practice pictures for the story. Have to step up my photo game and make some amazing photographs at the golden hour tomorrow!

Do you guys have a special someone? What is your favourite thing to do together? :)
