Labor Day

Without preconceived knowledge in depth of what being the the United States Army truly meant, I joined. I didn’t know that I would be awake most hours of the day, what it meant to respect your processors and keep your mouth shut though you oppose your leaders ideas sometimes, how you can keep training though your body feels like breaking and you could fall asleep at any moment.

A hundred times every day I remind myself that my inner and outer life are based on the labors of other men, living and dead, and that I must exert myself in order to give in the same measure as I have received and am still receiving.
